Smell the Roses

The Kiwi Maltese are about to embark on the next adventure  in a couple of days, and I thought it is time to sit back and smell the roses while rushing around getting ready to leave New Zealand for another extended period of time.

The last couple of years have been littered with uncertainty, illness and changes in the lives of all those around us.  We look not too far into the future to enjoy the moment we live in….

We are blessed to have family and friends who share our lives both in New Zealand and Malta and other places in this world, and we cherish the happy moments.  Family to see, weddings to cherish and our health right now where we can enjoy each moment.

Stepping on the plane, will leave behind another phase in our lives and many happy memories of this last kiwi summer and an excitement for the European summer ahead.  Humans constantly hit roadblocks, as we bulldoze through life without thought at times, and to step back and chill for a moment is priceless. To hold those dear to us, or let them go…..this is not our choice and we can only spend energy on the things we can change to make us happier each day.  Sometimes time is all we have to give, and this is the most valuable thing we can do.

We are leaving behind one son, taking one with us, and visiting with the 3rd, all is bitter sweet, as a parent you hold them all close in your heart at all times even from afar.  All we wish is for their happiness and enjoyment in the pathways they choose.

Ok, now that I have smelt the roses, it is time to live in the moment, don’t forget the phone chargers, the toothbrush and a change of underwear and we are ready to leap into the next adventure with our family on the other side of the world (and some from this side who will share our next journey)…..and sunshine.  And all you out there who share our adventures in this digital forum…….I hope you enjoy the ride as much as we do.
