- After a 2am bedtime, body clock still decided to wake me at 7am! While the rest of the house is sleeping, I took a walk to the car boot market; half the stall holders absent due to the projected temperature rise! By 8.30am and empty handed, believe it or not, the sweat was dripping off me. A cold water at the kiosk for the walk back.
A coffee break at our favourite and a walk around Birgu for our new visitors, Dave and Lisette.

Sue and the wall on the back side of Birgu

And thought to the front side and burning sunshine,
No cruise ships in today and all the Luzzu operators lounging around the birgu gate, waiting for business. A perfect day to take a three cities Luzzu cruise.
I was told it is normally 10 euros but since we are foreigners it is dearer! I told him I was Maltese and he said “In your dreams!” Out came the ID card and the agreement that we were not dreaming, and found out his name was Enrique, which turned out he was actually Italian!
The Kiwi Maltese took over as tour guide, and he smoked and drove the boat!

Our visitors and Enrique, the Italian Luzzu driver!
Out on the grand harbour, and enjoying a nice sea breeze….

The bakery that served fort st Angelo on the outside of the wall, in the process of being converted into a Day Spa.

The lookout tower on the point of Valletta and on into the port harbour, at the back side of Senglea, which houses none other than….

The Giraffe crane! My go to landmark when slightly lost on Malta’s one way streets!
Back via the bottle shop to restock the fridge and a cool beer stop at the very busy football club bar, before Russ and Dave hit the air conditioned rooms for a Nap….Lisette and Sue headed to the swimming hole for a dip followed by a coffee at the recently opened kiosk by the water hole.
Cool shower time and a bit of work before the Kiwi week starts then we are all off to the cool side (Senglea in the shade) for the evening.
