Fiesta time

Orewa is putting itself on the map as a seaside carnival town, 30 minutes north of Auckland…

Last weekend was the buskers festival and this weekend a ‘Boulevard Fiesta’ streets once again closed and market stalls lining each side.

We picked up mum, wheelchair and hats, while a little breezy, still a bright sunshine 28 degrees! (Celsius).

A clown entertaining the children and children at heart!

Retro lamps, clothing, wood, food, jewellery and everything you can think of….

Mary decided mini donuts were the flavour of the day, and a bag of 12 were munched through…I only had three!!!!

A few classics blocking the road to keep the traffic behind the action lines!

The local ukulele group performing a great range of ‘Old’ favourites, toe tapping tunes from our childhood! And live music on every corner.

A little trip to the beach to cool off (from the sea breeze) and watch the gentle waves roll in.

The walking adults were getting very warm and a welcome suggestion of a cold beer at ‘Muldoons’, the local Irish pub, had 100% support!

Mum enjoying the slightly more peaceful vibes, outside in the garden bar, while another live band cranked up inside.

Leaving the boys with the grocery list, I took mum back to her peaceful abode, then collected the boys and supplies and headed back to our beachside home over the hill at Waiwera!

Pizzas built and ready to throw in the oven, when our rugby team kicks off its 2019 campaign at 7.30pm…big night ahead!
